Ready for bulk-eraser 😱

The mighty Weircliffe Bulk Eraser mouth just ate and erased a cassettes batch.

Genius or… did I just slept well?

🥳😏🥳😁😎😇

… oh yes, please!!! 🥳

Back to recording - Gianluigi Trovesi, Adalberto and Andrea Ferrari 🥇🎶🤟🎶🥇

It was 18 months from last recording… it was like a music-less apnea ❤️‍🩹

Yesterday had the honor and pleasure of recording this seldom seen and heard clarinets trio which I recorded with my trusty Sound Devices 722 at 24bit/192khz resolution using for the first time the updated, restored B&O BM5 ribbon stereo mike with new +6db sensitivity bespoke transformers by XAudia.

The sonic results were above my expectations: awesome inner details, spaciousness and depth, dynamics to die for.

My Neumann USM69 sounds more colored and euphoric in comparison… this cheap B&O is a well-kept secret wolf in sheep skin 😏, a marvelous microphone, indeed.

… the music?

Well: I was moved to the deep chatting with musicians… maestro Trovesi is an humble genius, a witty 77 years young gentleman whose skill and good taste enriched several recordings I own on ECM, Alpha and many more… from Jazz to ancient, classical and contemporary music, his clarinets are a unique voice in a 50+ years career.

Such a pleasure… Adalberto and Andrea Ferrari with Gianluigi Trovesi captured the audience with their impressionistic compositions and improvisations.

I felt (and feel!) alive, again 💪🙏🎶🥇🤟😏🥂💪🙏

Thanks to the musicians, to my sensei Prof. Tullio Mauro and to the local Conservatory of Music 🙏🙏🙏

Made in Padua 🥇🎶🥇

Italian Theorba from Wendelio Venere made in Padova in 1575, with two pegs and seven double strings each (114 cm length).

Mersenne describes this instrument as the theorbo (of normal size).  There it is also called Great Roman Theorb "Chitarrone" major of Theorba.  I believe that the "Archiliut", as you may know, has an arm longer than one and a half meters.

Joan & Bob

“I ain't looking to compete with you

Beat or cheat or mistreat you

Simplify you, classify you

Deny, defy or crucify you

All I really want to do

Is, baby, be friends with you.”

BASF - Badische Anilin-und Soda Fabrik

I’ve been using BASF tapes for 50+ years… this logo accompanied my life and the (good) peculiar smell of brand-new tapes, just out of the box, reminds me of endless hours of music, recording, editing and spinning reels of various diameters.

New layout 🎶🎶🎶

To accommodate the new Nakamichi 1000ZXL, had to move gears in my Studietto.

A bit busy new layout, but everything is conveniently placed and functional 🤟

Welcome to Nakamichi 1000ZXL

The tape-splicing color codes

850 grams bronze/beech clamp 🎶🥇🎶

The silky, bee-wax hand polished surface is a pleasure to handle and the balanced bronze/beech-wood materials gives an awesome vibes taming and very even musical spectrum.
