This quite obscure yet very interesting folk-rock group only made two records in early ‘70s on CBS and like others CBS’ productions - i.e. - Anne Briggs’ - due to the modest commercial success, they knew early deleting from catalogs, becoming very soon sought-after collectors’ items.
They sound a bit like Fairport Convention and they share with the contemporary Pentangle some folk standards, traditional like Sally free and easy, Little Sadie, Geordie… and it’s great comparing the respective renditions.
The out-of-print 2-disks Japanese edition
Sure Cilia Humphris’ voice is a bit raw and dry vs. angel-like Jacqui McShee’s smooth voice, but On the Shore aged surprisingly well and it’s still nowadays enjoyable.
Worth quoting the young redhead model on the cover by Hipnosys is Katie Meehan, daughter of Tony Meehan of The Shadows.
