I found this disk I wasn’t aware of by chance… I’ve been a loyal follower of the group for 55+ years, own virtually all the official records and many collaborations, but this masterful recording recorded at St. Peter’s Church in NYC truly surprised me: natural acoustic of the venue is captured and serves music so nicely.
All pieces contained in the CD are already known, but here presented in an inedited, brand-new trio versions, percussions-less, so sounding with a definite, very intimate chamber-music-like character.
Mine was a coffee-worth purchase, but if you wish to go hot-rod, a SACD version also exists and it’s available on Discogs… at a cost.
A cool find!
