B&O BM-5 ribbon stereo microphone restored!

Mission accomplished...  when I got the mike, the two ribbon capsules were fixed with tape as the rotary mechanism to rule the 0-90 degrees panoramic soundstage was lousy and with no possibility to change the angle; some plastic elements deteriorated after decades of use and nobody took the task to fix it!

After restoring...  used with Neumann USM69 elastic mount

the broken, worn-out plastic parts at two ribbon capsules joint.

B&O BM-5 stereo ribbon microphones... it arrived with a white tape at upper capsule joint, with no possibility to change the 0-90 degrees angle!

A new Delrin mechanism was made to order, new hand made screws were made to order, where missing and everything is now working properly, mechanically AND SONICALLY!

A labor of love from my lathing artist and long time friend. He simply put as real my dreams (The Peak arm, Garrardzilla’s bronze platter and heavy-duty bearing and many many many more things he created for me in 30+ years!

Thanks, Mario.🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇
