The former guitarist of Oscar Peterson Trio, after superseding to another great, Barney Kessel, in 1953, born in Texas in 1921 and an hillbilly guitar player at his beginning, sadly passed away few weeks ago.
Thanking Norman Granz and his JATP, he was a guitar player all of his life, in a never tiring and ending jam-session mode, playing with virtually ALL the greats: Ella, Satchmo, Stan Getz and many, many others...
He also founded with Joe Pass, Charlie Byrd and Barney Kessel, the Great Guitars supergroup.
Sixty years on the guitar...
