Turkish Psych - Erkin Koray - Elektronik Turkuler
Following the so often illuminated and illuminating hints of Mojo magazine, I discovered this treasure: Erkin Koray, born in 1941, almost exclusively issued his songs and music as 7 inches vinyls... then in 1974 he published for Dogan Plakcilic this one and only full LP...
His music played in trio, is reminding some early Jefferson Airplane and Incredible String Band in Turkish sauce, using both classic rock instrumentarium and baglam (a sort of saz) and flutes and traditional percussions...
An incredible mix, creating something delightful and seldom heard...
Pharaway Sounds is also offering in a double disk format Arap Saci - i.e. ALL the singles Erkin Koray recorded in the '70s.
WOW!
Lovingly dedicated to Taksim Square rioting people.
