Happy birthday, Mr Braxton. Quite by coincidence over the past week I have been playing two Arista records I always think of as a 'set': Fall, 1974 and Five Pieces, 1975, and enjoying them immensely. I don't usually stray far from 70s and especially 80s (the Soul Note years) Braxton, because that's what I have on vinyl. Consequently vast areas of his output remain unknown to me and I never quite work up the determination to explore his work of the past thirty years...
