Old & New

… or maybe, just ancient (the ReVox A-40) and old (the Esoteric D1/P1 combo)?

💫🎼💫

Fylde Acoustic

Thanking my pal Daniele who gifted me of this gem 30 years ago 🙏

The disc contains tunes - only available here - of greatest English guitarists all playing Fylde’s acoustic guitars.

A masterpiece.

💫

John James’ galore

A guitarist’s guitarist… a personal fave of mine for decades whose music and playing deeply influenced me and my own playing.

Some JJ’s discs I collected 💫🎼💫

Wim Wenders’ Perfect Days - komorebi, or “the light that filters through the leaves of the trees”

A masterpiece… strange or not, when I was seated at my place in the movie-theater, just before lights dimmed, a young Japanese lady seated next to me, at my right… just an head-bow and the movie began.

Fond memories of my staying in Tokyo and… the humble, gentle flowing of the movie pervaded me.

… the almost therapeutic movie ended, leaving a delicious bitter-sweet aroma; my neighbor and myself bowed again and chatted a bit about Tokyo and Japan (the lady was from Tokyo, actually, studying Italian)

Life if good if you look for “komorebi” every day.

Ervin Somogyi - the luthier’s luthier

A true master luthier, a visionary, a mystic of wood, sound, vibes.

… as he wisely says: IRIFOY i.e. - is right in front of you 💫  which means: observing Nature and architecture and other man-made artifacts is highly inspiring… if you keep your eyes and soul tuned-in 💫

His guitars are awesome!

Queen and the King

Here it is 💫

I searched for this picture for a while, since I saw it on Mojo magazine, years ago: it’s Brian May and Freddy Mercury (Queen) and Studer C37 (the 👑 King).

My Favorite Things 💫 - listening and reading Tom Waits 🥇

Yes, my favorite things: listening to TW’s Glitter and Doom Live and reading TW’s interviews as lovingly collected by Paul Maher Jr. - that’s a very personal and unique pleasure.

I didn’t attend my Studietto for a while, while recovering from a dull, annoying flu and related symptoms, so today it was a bit of first school-day, sure first 2024 music-in-spades.

I so much enjoyed this afternoon listening/reading session, a 360 degrees experience and, ahhhhh… 😊 - my first eargasm of the year 💫  while listening to “Dirt in the Ground” 🥇: the perfect mix of gorgeous sonics and awesome performance was simply overwhelming and goosebumps and tears came, naturally.

A truly one-of-a-kind experience which - one more time - fully justifies every past, present and future effort in audio-art!

Happy New Year, folks: I wish you to find what you like…

I’m fine, thank you 🙏 dearest Tom 🥂

More drumming - Domen Cizej

For the daredevils out there…

Thanks to my pal Frank for the suggestion 🙏

Riccardo Bertoncelli strikes, again 💫

Mr. Bertoncelli wrote another great book about the music which changed his life… not by chance - as he was an inspiration for decades, now - the artists and records quoted in the the book are also my own musical background.

I strongly suggest everybody into good classic rock to read this book for a witty insight into these masterpieces.

You won’t regret.

Angel Song on vinyl 💫💫💫

This personal (and many others) fave will be issued on 180 grams vinyl for the first time, very soon.

I already pre-ordered my copy 🎼

Thanks to ECM 🥇

Chiaki Kikuchi-san’s Lumiere closed.

Lumiere isn’t (wasn’t ?) a perfect cartridge, as its building inconsistent nature and small flaws were detrimental to Kikuchi-san’s reputation… a few samples were sublime, others just average… or flawed, yet, for myself and others, this cartridge represented an epiphany in terms of natural, beefy sound, typically related to Neumann’s DST concept.
